About

The Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona was co-founded in 1975 by Ansel Adams and John Schaefer, who was the university's president at the time. It has grown to more than 120,000 prints and hundreds of archival collections, including Adams's own archive. The exhibition galleries are free to visit, Tuesday through Saturday. Bags aren't allowed in the exhibit spaces, but there are lockers in the lobby. Parking is the only likely cost: the Park Avenue Garage is paid, and the surface lot east of the building is free on weekends. The University of Arizona Museum of Art is right across Olive Road, so it's easy to see both in one trip.
