About

The Scottsdale Historical Museum is inside the Little Red Schoolhouse, a 1909 brick building that opened as Scottsdale Grammar School. Over the years it also served as the town hall, the city library and Chamber of Commerce offices, and the Historical Society opened the museum there in 1991. Admission is free, and it's open Wednesday through Sunday from October through April. Inside you'll find old photographs, a classroom set up the way it would have looked in 1910, and exhibits on life in Scottsdale and the Southwest. It's in the Scottsdale Civic Center in Old Town, so it's an easy stop on a walk downtown. Plan around the summer break, since it closes June through August.
