About

Tempe Town Lake is a 220-acre urban lake, more than two miles long, that has been part of downtown Tempe since 1999. Tempe Beach Park sits along it with 25 acres of lawns, paths, ramadas, picnic areas and public art. Walking, running or biking the more than five miles of paths around the lake costs nothing. Kayak, paddleboard, pedal boat and donut boat rentals are extra, and fishing needs a license. Come close to sunset, when the Elmore Pedestrian Bridge on the west side is a favorite photo spot. The A Mountain trailhead is a short walk away if you want to add a climb.
