About

Sahuaro Ranch Park is a Glendale city park built around a ranch that William Henry Bartlett homesteaded in 1886. Its 17-acre historic area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, with an adobe house, horse barn, blacksmith shop and fruit packing house. Admission is free, except during certain special events. The rose garden in front of the main and guest houses dates to 1890, and volunteers help keep it up. The rest of the park has playgrounds, sports fields, open lawns and covered picnic areas. It is an easy way to fit a little Arizona history into a family outing.
