About

Thunderbird Conservation Park is a 1,185-acre desert preserve in the Hedgpeth Hills of north Glendale. It has about 15 miles of multi-use trails, with routes from about a quarter mile up to 5 miles long. Entry is free, and the park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Picnic ramadas can be reserved through the city. Four wildlife viewing blinds sit along a man-made basin, which makes the park a good stop for birdwatching. Hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders all share the trails.
