About

Margaret T. Hance Park covers 32 acres in downtown Phoenix, built on top of the Interstate 10 tunnel between 3rd Avenue and 3rd Street. That freeway deck is why it is also called Deck Park. The park is free and has a dog park, picnic areas with grills, a splash pad, a volleyball court and restrooms. Families come for Fiesta Bowl PLAY, a 20,000-square-foot playground with a climbing wall, a sand play area and big fox, jackrabbit and owl climbing structures. The Japanese Friendship Garden next door charges admission, and the Irish Cultural Center is also at the park. Hance hosts many of downtown's festivals and concerts, so check what's on before you go.
