Ventana Canyon Trail

Ventana Canyon Trail starts at a Pima County trailhead on Resort Drive and climbs into the Pusch Ridge Wilderness of the Santa Catalina Mountains. It crosses the wash many times as it gains elevation, then climbs switchbacks at about mile 2. Parking is free, and you don't need a Forest Service pass. The small lot sits at the back of the resort's employee parking area and holds about 25 cars. Many hikers turn around at Maiden Pools, about 2.5 miles in. Strong hikers can keep going to The Window, a rock opening about 15 by 20 feet, roughly 7 miles from the trailhead.
