About

The Historic Pima County Courthouse is the downtown landmark with the colorful tiled dome, and it now houses the Southern Arizona Heritage and Visitor Center. Inside, storytelling exhibits cover the region's history, food, water, nature and arts, alongside a topographic map, an interactive diorama and a small theater. Admission is free, and the center is open every day from 10am to 5pm except holidays. Free guided tours start at 11am and 2pm daily. Staff can help you plan the rest of your trip, and the courtyard is a pleasant place to sit for a while. The University of Arizona gem and mineral museum in the same building is separate and charges its own admission.
