About

The Diamondback Bridge is a walking and biking bridge built in the shape of a giant rattlesnake, crossing Broadway Boulevard near Euclid Avenue. Artist Simon Donovan designed it, and it was completed in 2002. There's no cost to walk or bike across. You pass through the snake's body, and a large rattle at the south end makes a noise as you step off. The bridge links Iron Horse Park with the Aviation Bikeway, so it's easy to add to a walk or ride near downtown. It won a Federal Highway Administration award and was named the 2003 Public Works Project of the Year.
