Fountain Park is the town park in Fountain Hills, set around a 29-acre lake and the fountain Robert McCulloch built in 1970. On a normal day the fountain shoots about 330 feet high, and on special occasions it runs at its full 560 feet. The park is free, and the fountain runs every hour on the hour for 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It shuts off in windy conditions, so a breezy day may mean no show. Between shows there's a walking path, 36 pieces of public art, an 18-hole disc golf course and a musical instrument playground. The Rotary Splash Pad is seasonal and runs from April through September.
