The Chuckbox has been cooking burgers across from ASU since July 1972, and it still does it the old way: over a real mesquite charcoal fire, right where you can watch. Grab your burger and hit the open condiment bar. Ask about the "magic dust," the house seasoning the staff swears by. Bring cash, because that's all they take. Downtown Tempe named it Favorite Small Business of the Year in 2019.
