Cave Creek was founded in 1870 as a mining and ranching town, and it still has an Old West look along Cave Creek Road. Restaurants and saloons spill onto covered patios, and you might see horseback riders coming through town. Walking the main drag and Frontier Town, a re-created Old West main street lined with shops, costs nothing. The Cave Creek Museum charges $10 for adults, kids under 12 get in free, and it's open October through May. Residents call themselves Creekers, and 2026 marks 40 years since the town incorporated. Plenty of shops sell cowboy boots and Stetson hats if you want to take a little of the look home.
