Frontier Holidays is a hands-on look at how families in early Tucson marked the winter season. The reconstructed presidio fort becomes a place to step back in time and learn old traditions. A highlight is Las Posadas, performed by students from Carrillo K-5 Magnet School. Las Posadas is a Mexican tradition that retells Mary and Joseph's search for shelter, with songs sung door to door. The school has kept this tradition alive for 90 years. The day is relaxed and good for families, history fans and anyone curious about the border region's holiday customs.
