Wickenburg is a small Old West town northwest of Phoenix, and its downtown is easy to see on foot with the chamber's self-guided walking tour map. The chamber itself works out of the 1895 Santa Fe depot on Frontier Street, which makes a good first stop. Along the way you'll pass six large bronze statues of local characters, plus 16 small bronze Gila monsters, roadrunners, tarantulas and rattlesnakes. At Jail Tree Park on Tegner Street stands the old mesquite where prisoners were chained until they could be taken to Prescott, and a button there plays the story. Strolling, the statues and the Jail Tree cost nothing. The Desert Caballeros Western Museum downtown charges admission, and Vulture City Ghost Town outside of town runs its own paid tours.
