AZ88 opened in 1988, which is where the name comes from, and it sits right on the Scottsdale Civic Center. Every few months the dining room gets a new art installation. Past ones have included a Christmas tree made of dollar bills and a wall of plastic dolls behind the bar. Martinis are the specialty. They come in big chilled glasses filled to the rim. Pair one with the burger au poivre or the bacon-wrapped water chestnuts. Make a trip to the restroom. The late Scottsdale designer Janis Leonard made it a mirrored room with neon and music.
