This evening stargazing program takes small groups to a mountaintop observatory high above the city. It starts with an astronomy talk and a light dinner, then a sunset from a scenic overlook. As the sky gets dark, guides lead guests around the stars with binoculars. Then everyone takes turns looking through the largest public telescopes in the Southwest at planets, star clusters, nebulae and far-off galaxies. It is a once-in-a-while kind of night, great for couples, families with older kids and anyone curious about space. It gets very cold on top, so warm layers matter.
