Volunteer astronomers from the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association set up telescopes at a historic ranch house inside this state park for an evening of public stargazing. The Moon and planets are among the planned targets, with knowledgeable volunteers on hand to guide the viewing and answer questions. The park's elevated, rural setting away from city lights makes for a noticeably darker sky than in town. The event depends on clear weather, so a cloudy or stormy evening could mean a cancellation.
