Volunteer astronomers from the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association set up telescopes within this historic presidio for an evening of public stargazing. Visitors can look through a range of equipment at planets, nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters, with volunteers on hand to point things out and answer questions. The setting pairs a look at the night sky with one of Arizona's oldest European settlements, making it a good stop for history buffs and stargazers alike. The event depends on clear weather, so a cloudy or stormy evening could mean a cancellation.
