Volunteer astronomers from the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association bring telescopes out to this designated Dark Sky Park for an evening of public viewing. Away from city lights, the setting gives visitors an especially clear look through the eyepiece at planets, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies, with knowledgeable volunteers on hand to guide the viewing and answer questions. It is a free, casual way to experience a truly dark sky without owning any equipment. The event depends on clear weather, so a cloudy or stormy evening could mean a cancellation.
