This annual community festival turns a city park into a hands-on introduction to astronomy, with telescopes set up for public viewing alongside educational exhibits and activities for all ages. It runs for several hours in the afternoon and evening, giving families time to explore exhibits in daylight before telescopes come out as the sky darkens. Local astronomy volunteers and organizations staff the event, making it a good opportunity to ask questions and learn about getting started in the hobby. It is free to attend and designed to welcome complete beginners alongside more experienced stargazers.
