Ghosts & Boots: Western Halloween Night

About

A rodeo arena becomes an outdoor movie theater for this Halloween night put on by the local rodeo committee, now in its third year. The evening blends a Western theme with the usual Halloween staples, giving it a different feel from the typical trick or treat events around town. Families can wander through a lineup of food vendors before settling in for a screening of Casper the Friendly Ghost, projected under the open sky in the arena. A costume contest runs alongside the movie, giving kids and adults a reason to dress up beyond just handing out candy. The event is free to attend, with free parking and candy given out as well, making it an accessible option for a family night out without planning around ticket costs. The rodeo grounds setting gives the evening more open space to spread out than a typical indoor or parking lot event. Bringing a blanket or lawn chairs is worth considering given the outdoor arena setting, and arriving with enough time before the movie starts helps with parking and finding a spot to watch from.
