2027 Tucson International Mariachi Conference

About

The Tucson International Mariachi Conference brings student workshops, public concerts, and a mariachi Mass together over several days downtown, drawing performers and fans from across the country. It has run since the early 1980s and stands as one of the longest-running events of its kind. Trumpets, violins, and guitars fill the Tucson Convention Center as ensembles rehearse by day and perform in full charro dress by night. A Sunday morning Mass set entirely to live mariachi music closes out the week, paired with folkloric dance performances. The conference appeals to lifelong mariachi fans and newcomers to the tradition alike, offering an immersive weekend built around one of the most recognizable sounds in Mexican culture.
