2027 Dillinger Days

About

Dillinger Days transforms Hotel Congress into a scene from 1934, reenacting the night famed bank robber John Dillinger was captured in the hotel's lobby. The event blends period costume, vintage vehicles, and historic reenactment with the hotel's own real history as the site of the arrest. A Prohibition-era speakeasy kicks off the celebration with live music and 1930s-style cocktails inside the hotel's dim, wood-paneled bar. The following day brings a livelier street scene, with a vintage car show, gunfight reenactments, and visitors dressed head to toe in gangster and flapper attire. The mix of true crime history and old-Tucson atmosphere draws history buffs, costume enthusiasts, and curious locals alike, turning a piece of downtown lore into a full weekend of theatrical fun.
