The Tournament of Roses Parade has rolled down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena every New Year's Day since 1890. Every float must be covered entirely in flowers, seeds, bark, or other plant material — many take professional teams months to build. The parade runs 5½ miles and lasts about two hours at any given point along the route. Street viewing is free along the whole route; grandstand seats with cushioned chairs and closer views are available through Sharp Seating. Get there before 6 AM if you want a good free spot on the curb.
