The World's Championship Duck Calling Contest has been held in Stuttgart, Arkansas every Thanksgiving weekend since 1936, drawing contestants from across the country to compete for the title. The surrounding Wings Over the Prairie Festival spreads across six blocks of downtown with food vendors, shopping, carnival rides, a beer garden, and live entertainment. Stuttgart is known as the Duck and Rice Capital of the World — the flat Delta farmland surrounding the city is some of the best waterfowl habitat in North America.
