The National Shrimp Festival takes over Gulf Shores beachfront for four days every October, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Alabama Gulf Coast. More than 50 food vendors serve fresh Gulf shrimp prepared every way imaginable — boiled, fried, grilled, stuffed, and mixed into every kind of dish — alongside crab cakes, conch fritters, and lobster rolls. Live music runs all day on multiple stages, and a sprawling arts and crafts section lines the grounds. Parking fills early — park at Gulf Shores schools and use the free shuttle.
