The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is the world's largest hot air balloon festival, held annually in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The 2026 event marks the 54th annual fiesta with the theme "The Scenic Route," celebrating the 100-year anniversary of Route 66. Running over two weekends (October 3–11), the event features spectacular mass ascensions at dawn where hundreds of balloons launch simultaneously, special shape rodeos featuring uniquely designed balloons, and the Balloon Glow where tethered balloons illuminate the evening sky.
